Beneficial effects of Indian Classical Music through Mindfulness for stress!
I have observed some beneficial effect of Indian Classical music in reducing stress. I realized I can use certain Ragas, Tempos & Rhythms to reduce stress symptoms which is mindfulness based stress reduction or MBSR through sound healing process. In sessions I have seen people who were restless calming down and relaxing. Over the course of several sessions people who have gone through them have reported that the feel calm and relaxed and much less “stressed-out”.
Ragas as performed in live concerts need to be modified to be beneficial for mindfulness and meditation.
Mindfulness and music therapy techniques in Panchajanya Om using Indian classical music, invented by Indrani have been observed to produce beneficial effects on people suffering from anxiety, stress, depression, dementia. The stress levels in children with autism also reduced. Ragas as performed in live concerts need to be modified to be beneficial for mindfulness and meditation.
Different types of ragas have different level of impacts. I have seen that ragas produce relaxation, calmness and increased attention. In many instances certain ragas and notes have much more impact than others.
